Problem description:
  • Obtained "Service is currently unavailable" error during printing.
Findings:
  • Based on our logs, it is due to the pin mailer printer is not accepting our
    print jobs. Thus, we did a printer restart and it prints out successfully.

Problem description:
  • The same error occurred during printing.
Findings:
  • Based on logs, the print did not accept the print jobs.
  • Further looking into the problem, it is found that this happens during the below scenario
  • Admin login into PC, started CAS service and subsequently login to CAS.
  • Admin successfully done the first pin gen and logoff from CAS and locked the PC.
  • Much later, the same admin unlocked the PC, CAS service is still online.
  • Admin login to CAS, perform a pin gen but failed.
  • This is due to the network connectivity to printer is continuously searching for connectivity.
  • The PC is unable to connect to the printer, causing CAS got error "The printer is not accepting any jobs" .
Solution:
  • Inform CSC on the network connectivity issue during PC lock/unlock process.
  • If the PC is pending for printer's connectivity after unlock, perform a full log-off from PC and re-login.
