Description

Maybank SG are planning to configure their Cold standby BV server as a HA server. The current configuration of the cold standby is 3 CPUs.
Advise the recommended IM and BV configurations for this server. Also since we are going for HA, highlight if any specific settings/optimization required for BV Oracle DB.

Response from BV Support:

You can set a 1:1 ratio of 1to1 servers (e.g. cntdb, cmsdb) to IM engines, plus add the extra servers for pub center, DCC, etc so usually you'll end up with a few more than IM engines. Normally you can configure 2-4 IM engines per CPU depending on load. If you increase the number of IM engines you will need to increase the 1To1 server accordingly. You can configure the number of threads up to 16 threads per IM engine. Any number more than this will not make any big different.

We do not have any documentation on Oracle options and/or configuration. It has been done at different sites in many different ways, but as this is configuration of 3rd party software, we do not publish anything on it. If there was anything available, it would come from the consulting division(BVGS).
